~*~About the Site~*~

So here is where I can rant about my site ^__^. It all started around July 18th, 2003 (the earliest date on my site), when I started a simple site for my giveaway, Avista's Giveaway. This was for my guild The Quadrillionaire's Guild (TQG). This started on Tripod I believe, but because I kept on getting my account frozen without any reason, I moved to Geocities. There weren't any problems with Geocities like Tripod had ^_^. Anyways, after a while I got bored and decided to use this web space for the expressing of my creativity; therefore I began to add artwork and stories. I grew a love for html, css, and javascript, and began to change my simple web page into a simple web site :P Avista's Giveaway grew into Avista's Forest, and I had hoped to create a site that mirrored the majesty and beauty of the forest, and all the magic within it. And in the process I hunted down anime awards (though sometimes I wonder if my site is really an anime site persay, since it is only my artwork that is anime related, but go figure), and recieved quite alot; which, in my eyes at least, shows that my hard work has paid off, and that Avista's Forest has become worthy of the status of a web site.

After a while, because of how Geocities started using ads that were detrimental to the overall look of my website, such as ads that took up half the page (you can still see how the ads look even today), I decided to move my site elsewhere. I started by going to free webspace sites (like free webs, etc.) that offered ad free web space, but my site was either too big, had too many files, or the web host itself was unreliable and made me worried to place my precious site in their hands. So I tried looking for Web hosts that were people who bought web space but had a lot to spare, and so hosted other sites for free to use up that extra space. I was worried for the longest time, because I could not find many hosts that offered what I needed to run my site.

Then I found Starry-Sky. I liked the site, and the Hostess had a host plan that I felt was perfect for my sites current size with still more space for when my site grew. I emailed the Hostess, Stephanie, and after a while she responded and agreed to host my site on April 18th, 2005 ^o^. I must admit, I was nervous about having my site hosted by someone I didn't know, but after many emails (mostly involving me asking for help and advice ^o^), I feel more comfortable and know that my Hostess is very nice ^_^.I can only hope that my sites bandwidth and size will not become a burden for her. So now my site is here at Starry-Sky, and hopefully I won't have to move again for a very long time ^o~.

So that's the history of Avista's Forest (or at least all I can remember). I hope to always be able to work on Avista's Forest, and to continually work towards its improvement; in order to make it as well known as possible, and to give the viewers a sense of magic when they enter Avista's Forest Realm.
