~*~The Lost Faerie Kau~*~

by Bluecloud300 written for Blueangel721

Out by the hills of emerald green
where the streams and rivers run
With the skies above a brilliant blue
and clouds of white surrounding the sun

Was the most wondrous little
faerie kau
with her owner and her friend
and they played among the reeds
and lily pads
just by the river's bend.

The little faerie kau took lily flowers
and flying, threw them in the air
and with her friend, their joy knew no end
as they played in peace without a care.

Just then, the wind grew too strong,
and pushed the kau to the water's edge
and slipping upon the loose rocks there
she fell over the slippery ledge.

her friend ran to help her, but
it was too late to save her now
and so carried by the river current
was the poor little faerie kau.

The little kau lived though,
and carried by the stream
had traveled a great distance
and she could see the Koi's scales gleam

just as she thought all was lost
she was brought onto the shore
by the school of koi, and she found herself
in a land not seen before.

In a land she could not recognize,
her courage began to wane
"I am lost" cried the faerie kau
"And I shall never see my home again."

She tried to fly, for a better view
but alas, for her fall
had badly hurt her little wings
and she could not fly at all.

As her hope was gone, the little kau did don
a burden of all her fears
and lonely and forsaken, cried, her big
brown eyes welled with tears.

"Do not cry, my little kau" said a voice
out of the blue
"For I will bring you home, and give
happiness back to you."

A faerie had appeared
In radiant light she was seen
and wearing a crown, with wand in hand
was her highness the Faerie Queen.

With a wave of her wand
the Faerie Queen
healed the wings of the little kau
and having been helped by so kind a queen
she did her best to make a bow.

And so flying now together
they followed the path of the river deep
and found the faerie kau's friend,
who then no more did weep.

Reunited, and happy once more
they thanked the Faerie Queen
and they left as night was falling
upon those hills of green...

The faerie Queen smiled and disappeared
with the setting sun
and now my friend, t'is the end
and this story now is done.
